Will Owen

Juncos Racing is pleased to announce that Will Owen will join the team for the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season. Owen is the second driver to commit to the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship team.

Moving up the "Mazda Road to Indy" ladder, Will Owen, 19, advances to the Pro Mazda series after a successful season in the 2014 USF2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. Owen earned multiple Top-10's throughout the year and captured a win at the Indianapolis Grand Prix during his rookie season in the USF2000 series.

"I couldn't be happier right now because of this new deal with Juncos Racing," said Owen. "I went into my test with Juncos with an open mind because I was not sure what the outcome would be, but it could not have gone any better and both the team and I learned that we were a good fit for each other. The opportunity to be with a championship winning team does not happen all the time, so I am beyond excited to see what we can achieve together in the future. Everyone involved in Juncos, from the mechanics to the coaches, share the goal of winning and they were very helpful in my test. I truly believe that I will be able to take my driving and results to the next level because of the team's resources, experience, and passion. Next season cannot come soon enough!"

Juncos Racing Team Owner, Ricardo Juncos, looks forward to adding Owen to the lineup and developing him into the next level of his racing career through the Juncos Driver Development Program.

"We took notice of Will (Owen) when he won the Indianapolis Grand Prix in May," said Juncos. "His steady but solid performances in the USF2000 series proved that he possessed both the maturity and pace to make the move to Pro Mazda. Will integrated with the team incredibly well in his two-day evaluation test, and we are looking forward to seeing him succeed in this upcoming season."

Owen's racing career began in 2010 running in various karting series throughout Colorado. The following year Owen moved into competitive karting taking seven podiums with Kartsport North America. In 2012, Owen competed in 22 karting events including national, regional and local series earning a total of eight wins and several podium finishes. In 2013, Owen claimed three wins and eight podiums while running in Formula Mazda with Texas Autosports before moving to the Mazda Road to Indy program in 2014 in the USF2000 Championship with Pabst Racing.

The 2015 Pro Mazda Championship kicks off with the "Cooper Tires Winterfest Championship" on the 2.75 mile, 16-turn road course at NOLA Motorsports Park February 19-20th in Avondale, Louisiana. For more information please visit juncosracing.com and promazdachampionship.com.
