Abu Dhabi GP: Mercedes duo make mockery of practice 1

Friday morning in Abu Dhabi

The Mercedes cars are again in a class of their own this weekend in Abu Dhabi. Lewis Hamilton recorded the quickest time in the opening practice session for this weekend's Formula 1 title-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. 0.133 seconds quicker than his teammate Nico Rosberg.

No other drivers is in the same class. The Mercedes teammates are 1.7-second ahead Fernando Alonso's Ferrari in third.

The two Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo were next up in fourth and fifth places respectively.

The Toro Rossos set the sixth and seventh quickest times with Jean-Eric Vergne lapping a tenth ahead of his teammate Daniil Kvyat.

Ride-buyer Will Stevens was dead last in the Caterham, 7.2 seconds off the pace. Your grandmother could probably do better.
