Di Grassi: I had a much better race than in Beijing

Lucas di Grassi believes his drive from the back of the grid to a podium finish in the Putrajaya ePrix felt better than winning the opening Formula E race in Beijing.
The Brazilian, driving for Audi Sport ABT, lined-up 18th for the start of round two after clipping the wall in qualifying yet he was able to carve his way through the field during the 31-lap action-packed race and maintain his lead in the drivers’ standings.
“I felt I had a much better race than in Beijing where I won," said di Grassi. “For sure this was beyond my expectations. Everyone is here to win, everyone is pushing to the limit as this track has proven once and for all this car is very tricky to drive even if you have done all the testing. The tiniest margin can ruin your whole weekend and that’s what happened in qualifying from my side and then to come all the way from the back of the grid on a street track to second is an amazing feeling."
He added: “The team did a great job, they fixed the car from qualifying to the race. Audi Sport ABT are a wonderful team to work with and I’m very happy."
