Daytona Int’l Speedway Names UNOH Its Educational Partner

Daytona Int'l Speedway today named the Univ. of Northwestern Ohio its first-ever Official Educational Partner, providing UNOH with on-site marketing presence, including event signage, display space, tickets and hospitality. Financial terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed. UNOH had been a title sponsor of DIS' Battle of the Beach, but discontinuation of the event beyond this year left both parties searching for a way to maintain their mutually beneficial relationship.

DIS President Joie Chitwood said, "It's nice when you can find those relationships and you keep them, even when you change the focus from year to year." UNOH in '92 invented the first high-performance degree program in the U.S. and in '06 opened the largest U.S. facility dedicated to learning the science of high-performance vehicles, allowing students to receive first-hand motorsports mechanical training.
