Carlin sign Colton Herta

Colton Herta will make his UK racing debut with Carlin next season, as the young American becomes the second driver to be confirmed in Carlin's 2015 MSA Formula line up. The 14 year-old is taking advantage of the MSA regulations which allows 15 year-old to race and will join already announced driver Lando Norris at Carlin next year.
Herta has experience in international karting and has several plaudits to his name, including winning the IKF KPV2 Championship. Other karting titles include the SuperKarts USA TaG Cadet Championship, ProKart Challenge championship and International Kart Federation (IKF) Championship. In the 2014 season, Herta competed in the CooperTires USF2000 Championship.
Herta is the son of Indy Lights champion and IndyCar race winner Bryan Herta. Colton, who will turn 15 just before the start of the inaugural MSA Formula season, will be one of the youngest in the field as he makes his UK car racing debut.
Colton Herta said, "I'm really excited to be joining Carlin for the MSA Formula season. There is a ton of interest in the series and the competition will be incredibly tough, but I know Carlin will give me a great car and the necessary support to learn and develop my skills. So many great drivers have developed their careers with Carlin, this is exactly where I want to be. I can't wait for the season to start."
Trevor Carlin added, "Colton is a real talent and I think will be a revelation to many people in Europe that maybe haven't been aware of his racing before. We've seen his pace first hand in one of our test cars and from what we've seen Colton could be the next great American racing driver."
The MSA Formula teams will take delivery of the first cars in late December, with testing due to commence in the New Year.
