First points-paying round of MD Varsity Karting League tonight
Tonight, the first-points paying round of the Maryland Varsity Karting Championship will take place on the Le Mans circuit at Autobahn Speedway in Jessup, MD. AutoRacing1's Brian Carroccio will be on-site covering the event as drivers from 13 Maryland high schools are scheduled to compete throughout the evening.
Amongst the drivers expected to contend for the victory will be River Hill's Zack Spicer. Spicer took victory in each of the preliminary non-points rounds the past two weeks, and will look to continue that momentum tonight.
Jackie Ding of Sandy Spring Friends School is also a driver to watch. Ding, a Skip Barber racing driver, finished second two weeks ago and was in contention for a podium last week before a penalty forced him down to fourth in the order.
Brendan Stern of the Jemicy School who finished second last week is another driver to keep an eye on.
