Watch the full ‘Furious 7’ trailer

Universal Studios has released a full-length theatrical trailer for "Furious 7," after a shorter spot was featured during the Super Bowl. The latest installment in the "Fast & Furious" franchise was originally planned for a July 2014 release, but the death of Paul Walker, one of the stars, forced a script rewrite and the use of cutting-edge CGI technologies to re-create a number of scenes with Walker's character.

The producers brought in Peter Jackson's digital-effects company, Weta Digital, along with Walker's brothers Caleb and Cody, to help re-create some of the needed scenes in the revised script. The production also took advantage of some unused footage with Walker from previous "Fast & Furious" films for a number of the needed scenes.

"Furious 7" is set to open nationwide on April 3 in theaters and IMAX, and stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and — playing the primary villain in the film — Jason "I now pronounce you man and knife" Statham.
