Winterfest: Eidson wins U.S. F2000 Race 1

Starting from pole position, Jake Eidson scored a flag-to-flag U.S. F2000 victory in race 1 of Cooper Tires Winterfest at New Orleans Motorsports Park. The Memphis native came across the line 3.4 seconds ahead of Rice Lake, Wisconsin's Aaron Telitz. Frenchman Nico Jamin was third.

The drive of the race perhaps was turned in by Brazilian Victor Franzoni. From the 14th starting position, Franzoni moved up to fifth at the start. The Afterburner Autosport driver ran as high as fourth before ultimately finishing sixth.
