Winterfest: Jamin wins race and title

Nico Jamin stormed by Victor Franzoni in the closing laps of Cooper Tires Winterfest U.S. F2000 Race 5 at Barber Motorsports Park to take the victory and Winterfest championship. Franzoni, who won the earlier race today finished second. Anthony Martin, Aaron Telitz and Garth Rickards rounded out the top-five.

Coming into the final race, Jake Eidson seemed to be in a commanding position to take the championship. However, a mechanical failure on the #22 Pabst Racing Mazda eliminated Eidson from contention prior to the end of the first lap. Franzoni and Jamin were left to battle it out, with the Frenchman coming out on top.

Jamin's team, Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, also managed to win the Winterfest team championship
