Coopers and V8 series renew partnership

Australia’s only home-grown brewer Coopers has extended their partnership with V8 Supercars for a further five years, until 2021.

The Adelaide-based, family owned company has been the exclusive Beer and Cider supplier for the V8 Supercars Championship for the past four years with the extension taking them to nine years as a Series partner.

Coopers will provide all beer and cider products at V8 Supercars events, some of Australia’s largest entertainment platforms, enjoying significant at-track presence and increased integration with broadcast and digital spaces.

V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton said Coopers was a natural partner for V8 Supercars given its proud Australian heritage.

V8 Supercars has now retained all of its major sponsors and Government agreements, as well as introducing many new partners to the sport in 2015.

“It is fitting that here in Adelaide for our very first event of 2015 we are able to announce this extension with iconic South Australian brand Coopers," Mr. Warburton said.

“The Coopers team has an incredibly proud history as one of the country’s great business success stories as a family owned company for more than 150 years. As one of Australia’s largest sports we could not be more proud to partner the Coopers brand."

Coopers Managing Director Dr Tim Cooper said the great South Australian company had enjoyed significant brand benefit from its’ first four years as the Official Beer and Cider provider of V8 Supercars.

“The V8 Supercars sponsorship has helped drive our brand, with significant opportunity for consumers to try our products for the first time," Dr Cooper said. “We look forward to growing this relationship further for another five years with V8 Supercars."

Today, Coopers stands proudly as the sole major brewer which is 100% Australian owned and holds more than five per cent of the Australian beer market.

Coopers now has the sixth generation involved in contributing to the success of the brewery at Regency Park in Adelaide.

Successive Coopers generations have never lost sight of Thomas’ vision of providing value and quality in the form of healthy beer for an appreciative public.

The announcement follows the recent renewals of all major V8 Supercars partners and the addition of Foxtel, Fox Sports, Ten, Lexus, Woodstock, V8 Utes and Formula 4 to the sport.
