Antonio Pizzonia (Zele Racing) sets fastest lap in Vallelunga test

Antonio Pizzonia, driving for Zele Racing, cruised to the fastest lap of the opening Auto GP test session of 2015 at Vallelunga. The Brazilian, who made it on-track in time for Day 2 only, due to the long trip from Brazil, stopped the clocks in 1'23"196, completing 50 laps. The second fastest lap was set by German Sebastian Balthasar, who ended up 6 tenths of a second adrift in a Manor MP Motorsport car. The series' 2013 champion Vittorio Ghirelli took third place for Ibiza Racing Team. Lining-up at Vallelunga in preparation for next week's GP2 Series test at Abu Dhabi, Rene Binder took fourth place in front of Ibiza's Giuseppe Cipriani, who logged 59 laps, and his Virtuosi Racing team-mate Nikita Zlobin.

The Russian, coming from the SMP Racing program, put together 51 laps to edge Super Nova International's Francesco Dracone, who was among the morning's leaders with medium tires, and Andres Mendez (Zele Racing).

After the rain that fell yesterday and disturbed the Auto GP teams and drivers, a thick fog forced to postpone the green flag from 9:30 to 10:30 today. In order to satisfy the needs of the teams, Enzo Coloni and ISRA canceled the lunch break, giving them seven straight hours of continuous running. For the two-day test, the series' official supplier Kumho Tyre brought two sets of Medium tires, one set of Soft tires and one set of SuperSoft ones for each car.
