Charlotte Motor Speedway copies Indy for Newest Camping Craze – Glamping

Copying something started at the Indianapolis Motorspeedway, the latest craze in camping has arrived at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and fans looking for the ultimate in luxury, entertainment and glamour at the track will find it all while "glamping" in the infield during the 10 Days of Thunder.

"At Charlotte Motor Speedway, we're always looking for unique ways to reinvent the race experience for our fans," said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of the iconic 1.5-mile superspeedway. "Glamping is our latest effort, providing ultra-exclusive, luxury accommodations right in the heart of all the action."

Glamping is camping at its absolute best. These exclusive, infield campsites with stunning views of the speedway's gigantic, 16,000-square-foot HDTV, feature spacious, private safari tents that can accommodate groups of two or four. The two-person tents are equipped with the campers' choice of a plush queen-sized bed or two twin beds (two-person tent) or four cots (four-person tent), bedding, tables and chairs, a rug, lighting and a pad lock.

In addition, the secure "glampground" offers private concierge service, a community space with Adirondack chairs and a propane fire pit, a food and drink station and infield parking. Throughout both the NASCAR Sprint All-Star and Coca-Cola 600 race weekends, campers can enjoy exclusive activities like acoustic musical performances and camping games like corn hole, as well as movie nights on the HDTV and other fun.

Each camper receives an infield wristband, a pit pass and a race scanner. Each campsite is assigned one infield parking spot and provided a George Forman Grill, which fans can keep at the end of their stay.

A very limited number of glampsites will be available for both the NASCAR Sprint All-Star and Coca-Cola 600 weekends, so fans are encouraged to book early to ensure their spot.
