DIS Begins Taking Down Iconic Tower Amid Daytona Rising

The iconic Sprint Cup Tower that has been at Daytona Int'l Speedway "for almost three decades" began its "white-flag lap" yesterday. A crane "started picking off pieces of the signature structure" as part of the ongoing Daytona Rising renovation project. The tower for 27 years has "housed corporate gatherings, the media and NASCAR officials on race weekends." Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL
