Morning update from St. Pete

After some pre-dawn thunderstorms and rain, the morning road-to-Indy practice sessions have started under partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures with the track almost completely dry. This morning brings news that Kevin Magnussen definitely looked at racing in IndyCar but instead to be a reserve driver for McLaren where he will sit the bench the rest of the year for the backmarker McLaren-Honda team.

The IndyCar partnership with USA Today is paying early dividends with good coverage all week and today the entire back page of the sports section is dedicated to IndyCar.

What everyone will be watching the morning IndyCar practice and whether the Honda teams did indeed find more speed at Sebring so they can give the Chevy teams a run for their money. Honda's aero kit is more complex so it will probably take the Honda teams more time to figure them out.

USF2000 morning practice has completed with Jake Eidson on top. The Pro Mazda series is currently on track.
