IndyCar St. Petersburg GP TV Rating (Update)
UPDATE The 'final' TV rating for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg IndyCar season opener on ABC was a disappointing 0.6 rating, with 891,316 people tuned in. The 0.6 final rating was the same as 2014, but the viewership was up slightly from 2014 (860,215). When you have a car that is as ugly as the Dallara, and sounds so quiet it doesn't knock your socks off, fans are disinterested. Were IndyCar to switch to a mind-blowing screaming engine like F1 used to have, the series would grow in leaps and bounds.
03/30/15 ABC yesterday drew a 0.8 'overnight' with over 1 million viewers tuned in for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which was the opening race for the Verizon IndyCar Series season. That figure is up from a 0.6 overnight last year for the same race on the same weekend, also on ABC.
