KV Racing Technology announced today that local Louisiana based oil field rental tool company, Variable Bore Rams, Inc. (VBR) will be the primary sponsor of the No. 4 Variable Bore Rams – KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Dallara/Firestone car driven by Stefano Coletti at the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana, April 10-12, in Avondale, Louisiana.

"I have known Chip for a long time and I know his passion for cars, racing and Louisiana," said KVRT team co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven. "This was a unique opportunity for both companies and I want to thank everyone at Variable Bore Rams for partnering with the team for the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana. KVRT looks forward to producing a good result for VBR and for KVRT in New Orleans."

President of VBR, Hines M. "Chip" Marshall, Jr. is an avid race car fan and owns several race cars, including the Champ car Will Power drove to victory in the ChampCar World Series finale at Long Beach in 2008. In February this year, KVRT organized a test day for "Chip" at NOLA Motorsports Park, which allowed him to bring the two Champ cars he owns and test them under the guidance of KVRT co-owner Jimmy Vasser, retired after the Long Beach event. KVSH Racing driver Sebastien Bourdais was also given a chance to get back behind the wheel of one of the cars he earned one of his four-consecutive Champ Car World Series titles.

Commenting on this exciting weekend ahead for VBR, "Chip" says, "Variable Bore Rams, Inc. is proud to represent Louisiana and our Energy Sector in this exhilarating Race! NOLA has seen its share of firsts, but this is a special time for IndyCar racing and we are grateful, as well as thrilled, to be in the hunt! Stefano Coletti is one of the most exciting rookie drivers to come along in quite a while. Having been present to see KV Racing win the 2013 Indianapolis 500 anything could happen! I drove the track myself in February so I can personally say NOLA Motorsports Park is first class!"

Coletti made an extremely positive impression during three tests with KVRT prior to the start of the 2015 season. He made his IndyCar Series debut on March 29 at the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Florida and was again impressive. His skill on restarts and ability to pass on a difficult track, approximately 15 cars, was one of the highlights of the race and has everyone in the Paddock talking about him.

"It's great to be able to have Variable Bore Rams as my primary sponsor for their home race this weekend, the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana," said Coletti. "I had a successful test at NOLA last month when we debut the new Chevrolet aero-kits so I look forward to being back there this weekend and hopefully bringing home a great result."

The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana will be live on NBCSports from 2pm ET on Sunday April 12th. The race will also be on XM 209, IMS IndyCar Radio affiliates, plus IndyCar.com and the Verizon INDYCAR 15 app.
