Tony Kanaan led a contingent of seven Chevy powered cars in opening practice for the Grand Prix of Louisiana IndyCar race in New Orleans. Chevy continues to eat Honda's lunch with Will Power, Scott Dixon, Sebastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud rounding out the top-5.
The rain held off for now and the session was run in the dry.
The fastest Honda was James Hinchcliffe in 9th, 0.6 seconds off the pace.
