No 2nd car for Herta at Indy
Robin Miller reports for racer.com that the 99th Indianapolis 500 field has been reduced by one without turning a wheel. Jay Howard, scheduled to run a second Honda-powered car for Bryan Herta Autosport, won't be trying to make his second Indy starting lineup after all.
"The funding didn't come through and so we'll just be running our one car," said Herta, who is campaigning rookie Gabby Chaves (TOP) in the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series.
