IndyCar: Dixon tops opening practice at Barber

Scott Dixon led a Chevy 1-2-3-4-5-6 in opening practice for the Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park. Dixon's time of 1m07.775s in his Target Chip Ganassi Chevy was 2/10ths of a second faster than Will Power driving the Verizon Penske Chevy.
Luca Filippi was third followed by Simon Pagenaud and Sebastien Bourdais.
Helio Castroneves made it three Penske Chevys in the top-6 followed by the fastest Hondas of Rahal, Andretti and Hunter-Reay.
Making his IndyCar debut, Rodolfo Gonzalez was only 22nd, but more importantly he was already 1-second faster than his Dale Coyne Racing teammate Francesco Dracone.
