Davey Hamilton to make driving comeback in next week’s IndyCar oval test
Radio broadcaster/color analyst for IndyCar Radio, managing director of Kingdom Racing and executive director of USAC Racing Davey Hamilton is getting back behind the wheel of an IndyCar for the Verizon IndyCar Series' open test for the new oval aero kits at IMS.
With NBCSN IndyCar analyst and Dreyer & Reinbold/Kingdom Racing Townsend Bell unavailable – he'll be in Monterey at the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race driving a GT Daytona class Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 – Hamilton will suit up and test the No. 24 Chevrolet Bell will be driving in the Indianapolis 500.
"We have the car and we have the test day to use," Hamilton told MotorSportsTalk Saturday afternoon, during the second practice session at Barber Motorsports Park.
"It'll be my first time in the DW12. It's my first time in the car since 2011. We figure we should be out there." NBC Sports
