Indy 500 Confirmations (Update)

UPDATE

Alex Tagliani driving for A.J. Foyt brings the car count to 33.

By our count, the news that Alex Tagliani will drive the #48 AJ Foyt Racing entry for the 99th Indianapolis 500, brings the count to 33 confirmed cars, with 31 confirmed drivers (17 Honda, 16 Chevrolet). Dale Coyne Racing will run Pippa Mann in the #63 entry, but has yet to name driver for cars 18 and 19.

1996 Indy 500 winner Buddy Lazier, who ran each of the last two Indy 500s apparently has a car in Gasoline Alley. However, there has been no official confirmation from Lazier Partners Racing, so as of now, the status of Lazier's effort is unknown.

Ryan Hunter-Reay celebrates his win in last year's Indianapolis 500

Below, are the confirmed entries for the 99th Indianapolis 500. As of now, we have 32 confirmed entries, (16 Chevrolets, 16 Hondas) 30 of which have confirmed drivers. The #18 and #19 Dale Coyne Racing cars have yet to name drivers.

There is a 33rd entry expected to be announced in the form of Alex Tagliani with A.J. Foyt Racing, but as yet, nothing has been made official. And there are of course, rumors floating around concerning additional entries, but again nothing official.

Anyway, below is the list of confirmations, which is of course, subject to change.
