Grand Prix of Indianapolis Saturday Morning Report – 2
Pagenaud gets his ring for winning the inaugural GP of Indy |
Under partially cloudy skies in Indy, the Indy cars have just finished practice. talked with Simon Pagenaud and got a peek of his ring from winning last year's Grand Prix. I asked him if he thinks he could make it a second win today. He replied, "Yes, I think I can do it". when I asked him about the rain coming, he replied "I hope it does rain this afternoon. I am good in the rain".
Sebastian Saavedra was happy with his car. The Pole sitter from last year's inaugural race is starting 8th today in the Number 8 car.
As Sage Karam, the other driver for the number 8 car of Ganassi Racing sits by looking a bit bored. I talked with Sage, who is sporting a playoff beard.
For those who don't know, when the NHL starts their playoff games, the players grow a beard during the rounds. I asked Sage which team he was supporting and he replied " the Anaheim Mighty Ducks". Not what I expected from a native Pennsylvania boy.
The sun is shining here now as the temperatures are rising. I will keep you posted as we get closer to race time. Lucille Dust reporting from Indy
