Andretti Autosport teams up with Rook Security
Rook Security’s partnership with Andretti began when the reigning Indianapolis 500 champions needed industry-leading capabilities to detect and respond to attacks against its proprietary technology, specifications, and track data. Today, this partnership will expand to incorporate new leading technology developed by Rook Security. These managed technologies will be used to protect race data created by Andretti for use in research and development and within the engineering stands on pit lane.
“Timing down to the hundredths of seconds is crucial, both in motorsports and cybersecurity," said J.J. Thompson, CEO, Rook Security. “If an adversary is in a network, disruption and theft can be catastrophic. Protecting Andretti Autosport’s R&D, trackside and tuning data, reinforces the importance of their leading engineering capabilities, which are second to none, and protects the team’s competitive advantage."
“Our team has to trust each other, our driver, our engineers, and the data we rely on can make the difference between being on or off the podium," said Michael Andretti, president, chairman and CEO of Andretti Autosport. “Protecting our data is not enough. We have to trust that our security partner can be relied on to provide real-time protection and response capabilities while maintaining our ability to execute."
For teams that employ and rely upon world-class engineering, these adjustments can be the difference between winning and losing – by as little as one-tenth of a second. Maintaining a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, including cutting-edge data integrity and security is a recipe that helps enable Andretti Autosport’s winning legacy.
