Update from Detroit

UPDATE I talked with Dale, engineer with Firestone this morning. They shipped more wet tires to Detroit overnight so the teams could have 1 extra set of wets. Dale also reiterated what Jon Beekhuis told me in that the cold temperatures here in Detroit won't affect the tire performance.

Some IndyCar teams just did a system test and the track was OK to run on. The tires were even warm when they came back to the pits, Dale stated.

They are also working on a new compound for the wets. originally the new tire was going to be in Toronto but that has been moved back to Mid Ohio.

The cars are rolling out to pit lane here at about 11:10 a.m. readying for qualifying.
