Formula 1’s Grand Prix Drivers Association Launches Global Fan Survey

Will fans vote to rid F1 of their hideous hybrid engines?

Formula 1's drivers are "reaching out to fans to find out just what they want from the sport," according to FOX SPORTS. The Grand Prix Drivers' Association has launched a Global Fan Survey to "canvas the opinions of F1 fans around the globe" with what it has called "the most extensive, in-depth survey of fan opinion ever undertaken by any sport in the world."

GPDA Chair Alex Wurz, a former F1 driver, said that the survey "has the backing" of F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone and will give the drivers a "good platform to help he and the FIA shift the sport in a direction that will please the fans."

The GPDA's preface on the survey said, "We believe this Global Fan Survey will give us a unique opportunity to understand how we as drivers, and F1 as a whole, can do more for you." FOX SPORTS
