Roberto Merhi heads to Canada with Manor Marussia

LONDON, 3 June 2015 – After a successful race in Monaco, the young Spaniard is now heading to Montreal with the Manor Marussia F1 team to compete in Round 7 of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Grand Prix du Canada, this weekend.
Two weeks ago, Merhi achieved the best result of his rookie season so far in the Monaco Grand Prix, finishing in P16 and ahead of his Manor team-mate Will Stevens.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal is a firm favourite for the fans and teams alike, as it is a real handful of a racetrack: low down force with long straights, big braking areas and plenty of challenges to keep the drivers on their toes.
'The Wall of Champions' has a long and distinguished history of catching out even the very best of drivers, as they seek out the sweet spot between 'brief kiss' and 'wide berth' that is so key to a quick lap here.
Roberto Merhi said: "I'm looking forward to Canada, as the track looks pretty challenging but also a lot of fun; a real adrenaline rush. The mix of long straights and really slow sections is interesting and I know the weather can play a big part in mixing things up a bit.
"Monaco gave me a real boost, so I can't wait to be back in the car at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, picking up where I left off there in performance terms and extracting as much as possible from the current package."
Qualifying for the Canadian GP will take place on Saturday, 6 June at 13:00 GMT-5, with the actual race starting on Sunday, 7 June at 14:00 GMT-5.
