Mike Smith and RLR msport with a Ligier JS P3 in 2016

Mike Smith has confirmed his purchase of a Ligier JS P3, which the RLR msport team will run in the 2016 European Le Mans Series. For the last six years, RLR msport has competed with success in different historic endurance series as well as in the LM P2 and LM P3 categories which the team won in the Imola 4 Hours in May. The English outfit is continuing its collaboration with Onroak Automotive as it has raced a Ligier JS 53 EVO in the VdeV Endurance Series for the last two years.

Onroak Automotive continues its testing program while replying to the strong interest shown by several teams in the Ligier JS P3, its brand-new chassis from the Magny-Cours workshops.

Mike Smith: " Having raced a Chevron in CER during 2013/14 , and at the same time owning and running Radical SR8s, I became aware of the new regulations for LMP3 which are attractive to prospective entrants, the cost cap element particularly works. The cars are state of the art, in particular the new Ligier. I chose the new Ligier JSP3 because it utilizes the most advanced technology; it meets all performance criteria and I am comfortable with Ligier’s track record."
