Belgian GP: Hamilton leads Mercedes 1-2 in final practice

Lewis Hamilton smiles after learning he beat his teammate by 1/2-second

Lewis Hamilton was the only driver to break into the 1m48s bracket as his lap of 1m48.984s beat his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg by 1/2-second to top the final practice session for the Belgian GP at sunny Spa Francorchamps Saturday morning.

Sebastian Vettel led an all-Ferrari 2nd row with a time 2/10ths faster than teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

Sergio Perez put his Mercedes power to good use to finish 5th ahead of the Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo who was sixth quickest, 0.050s ahead of Red Bull team-mate Daniil Kvyat.

It was a difficult morning for McLaren-Honda. Fernando Alonso managed just a single installation lap before returning to the garage while his teammate Jenson Button managed 12 laps, but finished 17th, 2.997s off the pace.
