Desire Wilson sweeps Porsche Cup races
Former Formula One driver Desire Wilson won both rounds of the Pirelli Cup Porsche GT3 races in her class on Saturday and Sunday at Miller Motorsports Park. The 61-year-old Salt Lake City resident finished both races third overall behind two Diamond class Porsche 991's and ahead of Mark Nelson in the Platinum class.
After gearbox problems in qualifying for Sunday's race dropped her to tenth on the grid, she passed five cars on the first lap, then two more on consecutive laps to consolidate her position and her fourth class win in four races. Having earned double wins at Laguna Seca three weeks ago, Wilson is now an impressive four-for-four in the Pirelli Cup races in which she has driven in 2015.
