Stevie Smith wins the Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove

Stevie Smith won his third career Williams Grove National Open on Sunday evening and took home $50,000. Smith started second and passed pole-sitter Danny Dietrich for the lead on the ninth lap.

Smith then held off World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz over the closing laps of the 40-lap event. Logan Schuchart finished third, with Justin Henderson and Brian Montieth in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were: Dietrich, Alan Krimes, Daryn Pittman, Lance Dewease and Cory Haas.

The Champion Racing Oil National Open is an event with more than 50 years of history that includes the biggest names in motorsports competing at half-mile Williams Grove Speedway, one of dirt racing’s legendary venues.
