Porsche Team has confirmed Juan Pablo Montoya will test its Porsche 919 Hybrid at Bahrain on November 22, as was highly expected.
The test takes place a day after the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale on the Saturday, November 21.

Montoya was a guest of the team during the FIA WEC round at Circuit of The Americas last month, and told Sportscar365 at Austin "it's something I'd like to do."

Discussions took place at Austin and today, Porsche has released a photo of Montoya having a seat fit. Montoya, as well, has also posted a view of his seat.

Montoya, who drives for Team Penske in IndyCar, would need to be cleared to drive at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But projections are that the June 18-19 date will be left open on the IndyCar schedule once it's released, and with Nico Hulkenberg all-but-ruled out due to the clash with the European Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan, Montoya could slot in as the German's replacement.

The Detroit IndyCar race on June 5 clashes with the Le Mans Test Day, but as a Platinum-rated driver, Montoya could complete his requisite laps to participate in a practice session if need be. Kevin Estre, who was a Le Mans rookie this year, was able to exercise that option.
