Mazda names Carneiro a finalist for Mazda Road to 24 Shootout

MAZDA MOTORSPORTS just announced that Bruno Carneiro, age 16 from Riverton Utah, is one of the 9 drivers in the US to take part on the Mazda Road to 24 Shootout to be held at the Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina Nov.7th to the 10th.

Carneiro, who clinched the 2015 NASA Pro Racing Utah Region in the Formula class, was one of the 24 Semi-Finalists announced by Mazda last week. Of those 24 drivers, 9 are heading to the Great Finals.

" I am in heaven", said Bruno Carneiro.

"Just to be one of the 24 semi-finalists was amazing and now to be one of the 9 drives in the USA with all expenses paid is more than a dream, it is an honor. There is no other brand in the world that promotes motorsports as much as Mazda. Their ladder system is unique with the Mazda Road to Indy and the Mazda Road to 24 Programs.

I arrive from China on Nov. 2nd, then leave to Kershaw on Nov. 7th for another great experience. It will be a long shot to win it, but just to be participating and being recognized by Mazda Motorsports is what really counts.
