Mexican F1 Grand Prix Expected To Draw 300,000 Fans To Mexico City

This weekend's Mexican F1 Grand Prix "will have a greater economic impact" than previous editions in Mexico City, as it will have more sponsors, according to Alejandra Garcia of LA AFICION.

There are, however, also "greater demands" from FIA. During the week before the race it is estimated that Mexico City will host 300,000 fans, who will have an economic impact of $400,000 from Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

The remodeling of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez "was said to have created nearly 18,000 jobs."

In the hospitality industry, F1 personnel and fans will occupy 26,274 rooms, "a situation that will generate $45M in revenue — the amount typically made in one year."

Hotel St. Regis Public Relations Dir Paulina Feltrin Espinosa said that the hotel "will have 95% occupancy on the days of the Grand Prix," and highlighted that 90% of the guests are from outside the country. LA AFICION
