Lewis Hamilton arrives at New York charity ball in Ferrari, not Mercedes

The rare LaFerrari vehicle boasts a top speed of 220mph – and fans caught a glimpse as the F1 champion touched down at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday

Lewis Hamilton turned heads once again as he arrived at a New York charity ball in a $1.5 MILLION car.

The F1 world champion , thought to be the richest in his sport, has splashed out on the rare LaFerrari vehicle.

And Hamilton couldn't resist showing off his latest purchase as he touched down at the 'Keep A Child Alive' Black Ball in New York on Thursday night.

The Brit was filmed as he arrived at the city's Hammerstein Ballroom, driving the famous red of Mercedes' rivals.

The LaFerrari, which costs a staggering $1.5million was launched in 2013 with only 499 of the cars made ahead of its launch.

I am great!

In 2013, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen were promised one of the limited edition vehicles if they lifted the F1 title, but Hamilton pipped them to the post.

And he secured his third just last month when he won the US Grand Prix in Texas.

"I can't find the right words to tell you how amazing this feels."

"When you win a title that signifies I guess your greatness and the people around you."
