Harvey eyes IndyCar seat for 2016

Good drivers like Jack Harvey have to bring money (i.e. buy their ride)

22-year-old Indy Lights driver Jack Harvey is confident he can land an IndyCar seat for 2016 with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports

"Things are looking quite good, and I'd be in the same situation right now whether I won the Lights championship or not," Harvey told RACER.com. "You still need to find a lot of money, which we're getting close on, and it's no secret we're talking to Sam [Schmidt] about being in that second seat next to James Hinchcliffe.

"We've had a great working relationship with the team in Indy Lights, and we were very fast in our IndyCar test at Sonoma (pictured, TOP), and I'd love to be with Sam and Ric Peterson in IndyCar because that's why we went there to begin with. That's our best full-time drive option at the moment."

"I know I'm not alone – Mikhail Aleshin is someone to consider, and Conor Daly, and there are other guys who want the same thing as me."

"There are a couple other options we can pursue if things don't end up with Sam, and I don't want to sound overconfident, but I'm optimistic we can get out next year in IndyCar. Of course you want things to progress faster to make everything happen, but the process of finding a budget does take some time."
