IndyCar Canadian Race Broadcasts Show Marked Growth

Popularity of the Verizon IndyCar Series is increasing everywhere, including Canada – especially among a key younger demographic, according to INDYCAR's Canadian broadcast partner Sportsnet.

Overall viewership of Verizon IndyCar Series races on Sportsnet One increased 101 percent in 2015 over 2014 and showed a cumulative increase of 146 percent from 2013 to 2015. Is that why attendance and TV ratings are miniscule, because IndyCar is getting so popular? The press release only gives out percentages, and not cold hard viewer numbers. For example that 10-fold increase they talk about – maybe they had 1 viewer in 2014 and it increased to 10 in the 23-34 age category. They don't publish the real viewership numbers because it would be too embarrassing.
