Formula E CEO impressed with US TV ratings
Alejandro Agag |
Last Saturday’s Purajaya ePrix garnered combined FOX Sports viewership of 1,621,000 between the live, late-night airing on FS1 and a next-day replay on FOX broadcast.
"It's huge news to receive these sort of TV figures in the US," said Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E. "North America is a key market for Formula E with burgeoning sales of electric vehicles and growing support from fans. We hope to see Formula E continue to expand in America and we look forward to returning for the Long Beach ePrix in April next year."
There are no U.S. drivers currently in Formula E, but two of the teams, Andretti and Dragon Racing, are American-owned.
Formula E raced in Miami and in Long Beach during its inaugural season, and will return to the streets of Long Beach on April 2, 2016.
