Adrian Newey to help his son’s F3 team (Update)

(GMM) A Formula 3 outfit has rejected reports that Adrian Newey, perhaps the most famous designer in F1 history, has signed up for 2016.
Apparently disillusioned with the restrictive F1 rules, Newey has already taken a step back from formula one and will work with Red Bull on other projects, including the America's Cup.
A report last week suggested the Briton will do some engineering work for Van Amersfoort Racing, the team with which Newey's 17-year-old son Harrison is tipped to step up from Formula 4 to the top European F3 series next year.
But Van Amersfoort Racing is quoted by the Dutch website Formule 1: "Mr. Newey does not work for the team and also in the future will not.
"The report was based on unverified information and we would therefore like to apologize to Mr. Newey and all parties involved, including the media, for this incorrect statement by a team member."
The team did admit, however, that Adrian Newey attended his son's recent F3 test.
"Mr. Newey follows the career of his son very closely, so he was present at the test. It's that simple," Van Amersfoort Racing said.
11/19/15 Red Bull Racing designer Adrian Newey will be joining Van Amersfoot Racing to help the Dutch outfit with its European Formula 3 efforts.
According to Autosport, Newey will be lending a helping hand to VAR''s technical staff in order to extract the full potential from its VW-powered Dallara contender.
The fact that Adrian Newey’s son, Harrison, is currently being considered for a seat with VAR may well justify the technical wizard’s involvement, or indeed it may even be the deciding factor in recruiting the young hopeful.
Harrison Newey was a runner-up in this seasons'' BRDC Formula 4 Championship, and also competed in German F4 with Van Amersfoot Racing for whom Newey tested in F3.
