Lewis Resigns From Global F4 Racing Team
Leading Edge F4 will retain all of its personnel, its base in SW Florida and current driver programs in a quest to capture the 2016 FIA F4 United States Championship crown.
"It's with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation for Global GP today," stated John Lewis. "It has become apparent that my involvement with the team has hindered the team's growth and therefore, in order for the team to succeed I have decided that it's best for me to leave the operation. Mark Weida is and will be an excellent General Manager and I wish everybody on the new Leading Edge team the best."
"First off I need to thank Tony Gaples, Ray Sorenson and all the guys at BlackDog Speedshop. We had a great 3 year run in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS Championship, winning 3 championships for BlackDog and Chevrolet. I'll be rooting for them in 2015 for four in a row. Next I'd like to thank John Lewis for this new and exciting program. I've enjoyed sports car racing, but my heart has always been in open wheel. To be reunited with Robbie Pecorari and a new group of young, talented drivers, in a new series is a great opportunity. I can't wait to get the season started."
