IndyCar and IMSA personalities to make Detroit appearances
WHAT: The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix will host some of the top drivers from the Verizon IndyCar Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Friday at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) Grand Prix/Hitachi display. The display is located on the Cobo Center concourse and the drivers, along with the top executives from each racing series, will be available to the media for one-on-one interviews beginning at 11 a.m., before they participate in a Grand Prix panel discussion on stage in the Cobo Center Atrium at 12 p.m.
WHO: Drivers and executives appearing at the Grand Prix display include:
- Scott Dixon – Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet driver, reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion, four-time series champ, 2012 winner of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix and 2008 Indianapolis 500 winner
- Sebastien Bourdais – KVSH Racing Chevrolet driver, four-time INDYCAR series champion, winner of the 2015 Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans
- Christian Fittipaldi –Action Express Racing Chevrolet driver, 2015 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Protoype Champion and former INDYCAR driver
- Joao Barbosa – Action Express Racing Chevrolet driver, 2015 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Protoype Champion and 2012 SportsCar race winner at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
- Bud Denker – Chairman, Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
- Mark Kent – Director of Chevrolet Racing
- Mark Miles – CEO of INDYCAR
- Scott Atherton – President and COO of IMSA
