Kenseth puts Logano in the wall at Martinsville

Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth aren't likely to be dining together soon, but the discomfort produced by their late-season on-track troubles last year seems to have eased. Logano knocked Kenseth's car out of the way as he raced to a win Oct. 18 at Kansas Speedway. Kenseth retaliated two weeks later at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, sending Logano's car into the wall and keeping from an almost-certain victory. NASCAR suspended Kenseth for two races because of the crash. NASCAR called the two drivers into a meeting the weekend of the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Logano said Wednesday he hopes the situation has reached a conclusion. "We had a discussion at Homestead with NASCAR. I got everything off my chest that I needed to say, and hopefully Matt did, as well. As a driver, you keep your goals in mind. My goal as a race car driver is to win every race I'm in. That's what I keep as priority No. 1. Each person has their own way of handling it. Every situation requires something different. I'm sure this over time will kind of go away and we'll be able to focus on the season."

On Tuesday, Kenseth also expressed a desire to leave the 2015 incidents behind. "NASCAR got us together at Homestead, and we spoke briefly in Las Vegas (during post-season appearances)," Kenseth said. "Honestly, I've never had a problem with Joey before that. We've always raced good together. The best case probably is for everybody to put it behind us and move on." USA Today
