Ricciardo almost did Le Mans in 2015

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo says he considered racing at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2015 but his Formula 1 commitments put an end to his hopes.
Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg linked up at Porsche with Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy for two rounds of the World Endurance Championship and triumphed at Le Mans in a third entry.
Ricciardo revealed that he was keen to join Hulkenberg on the grid but had to prioritize his Formula 1 duties.
"Le Mans would be cool," he told Auto Action.
"To be honest, I wanted to do it last year. There was maybe some opportunities to do it last year, but it was a bit too much with everything going on and the team preferred me to just focus on Formula 1.
"It makes sense for now. Obviously Hulkenberg went and did it and won – I would love to have done it.
"So that can happen. I guess the beauty of Le Mans is it can happen 10 years from now. It doesn't need to be done today."
This year's Le Mans 24 Hours clashes with the European Grand Prix at Baku, preventing Hulkenberg from defending his title and ruling out any other Formula 1 drivers entering the race.
