Where to catch all the Rolex 24 action
01/27/16 The 2016 international motorsports season starts off on a high note with the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona, opening the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. It’s also the opening race for Daytona International Speedway’s reimagined motorsports stadium, following the massive $400 million DAYTONA Rising renovation.
Race fans can follow the non-stop live action on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and IMSA.tv, from the pre-race grid and waiving of the green flag all the way to the checkered flag and Victory Lane celebrations. Fans can also view 16 hours of live competition on the FOX Sports Go app with FS1 authentication.
Sports car racing’s all-star event features stars of NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula One and international sports car racing joining the WeatherTech Championship regulars. The GT classes have an all-new look for 2016. GT Le Mans (GTLM) features the anticipated debut of the Ford GT, Ferrari 488 and BMW M6, taking on renovated entries from Corvette and Porsche. GT Daytona (GTD) has a new look with cars conforming to international GT3 rules, including the debut of Lamborghini in the Rolex 24.
The Rolex 24 At Daytona also serves as the first of four races that comprise the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup. It's 52 hours of speed, skill, heartbreak, and triumph, a unique competition within the WeatherTech Championship consisting of the most prestigious endurance races in North America: The Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida, Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, and Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda. The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge opens 2016 competition with the BMW Performance 200, streamed live on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app beginning with the green flag at 1:45 p.m. for two hours, 30 minutes of door handle-to-door handle racing.
Saturday, Jan. 30
Follow all the action live as the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona kicks off the 2016 WeatherTech Championship season. FS1 begins coverage from 2-4 p.m., including the green flag at 2:40 p.m. FS2 then takes over from 4-10 p.m. which includes coverage on the FOX Sports Go app.
Overnight, Jan. 30-31
IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app will live stream both video and commentary from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. This year’s coverage includes additional at-track and in-car cameras throughout the overnight hours.
Sunday, Jan. 31
FS1 picks up the action at 7 a.m. FS2 picks up the action at 10:30 a.m., when FS1 returns with complete coverage through the checkered flag at 2:40 p.m. and the Victory Lane celebration through 3 p.m.
