Rolex 24 Hour 10: Corvette DPs run 1-2-3

Scott Pruett took over the lead in the Action Express No. 5 Corvette DP as the Rolex 24 hit the 10-hour mark in the middle of the night in Daytona Florida. He led Max Angelelli in the No. 10 Corvette DP and Ryan Hunter-Reay who brought the No. 90 Corvette DP up to third.

Alex Wurz ran 4th in the No. 01 Ganassi Riley Ford with Simon Pagenaud rounding out the top-5 in the No. 31 Corvette DP giving Chevy 4 of the top-5 positions.

One of the race favorites for the 54th Rolex 24 at Daytona, the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda, has seen its hopes end in the tenth hour.

Ozz Negri had an engine failure and stopped on course, according to team principal Shank on IMSA Radio. The car was brought back to the garage for further diagnosis, and a Honda spokesperson confirmed the failure and the car’s retirement.

Jon Edwards put the No. 100 Rahal BMW in the lead of GTLM over the No. 3 Corvette of Jan Magnussen.

The No. 52 Oreca led the PC class and Shane van Gisbergen had the No. 22 Porsche in front in GTD.
