Butterball Returns with Andretti Autosport

U.S. based food corporation Butterball has expanded its relationship with four-time Verizon IndyCar Series championship team Andretti Autosport, marking 2016 the third year for the successful partnership. Butterball, which accounts for approximately 20 percent of total turkey production in the country, will see its deliciously familiar branding on the No. 28 Honda piloted by 2014 Indianapolis 500 Champion Ryan Hunter-Reay. Additionally, in an expanded role for the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season, the No. 27 machine of Marco Andretti will carry Butterball’s mark for the 2016 Grand Prix of Indianapolis as well as the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

“We’re really pleased to welcome back Butterball for a third-consecutive season," said team namesake Michael Andretti. "The expanded partnership gives Butterball a place in history as we celebrate a significant season of Indy car racing. Not only are we proud to have Butterball on the cars – but we’re thrilled to have their quality turkey on our hospitality menu!"

“Butterball is honored to continue the successful partnership with Andretti Autosport in 2016, especially in such an exciting year for the team," said President and CEO of Butterball, Kerry Doughty. “We look forward to seeing the No. 27 and No. 28 cars, adorned with Butterball, race to victory."

The 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series championship begins on March 13 with the opening round of competition on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla. Andretti Autosport will field three full season entries with Andretti, Hunter-Reay and Carlos Munoz. Keep up to date on all things Andretti via Twitter with @FollowAndretti.
