Mercedes-Benz F1 W07 Hybrid Completes First Laps at Silverstone
The F1 W07 Hybrid, powered by the PU106C Hybrid Power Unit, first departed the garage at 10:15 this morning on a cold but clear day at the Northamptonshire circuit. Driven first by Nico Rosberg, then Lewis Hamilton, the car completed a total of 98.2 km.
The team will now ready the F1 W07 Hybrid for its public track debut at the opening pre-season test of the 2016 Formula One season in Barcelona on Monday 22 February.
The next generation of Silver Arrows racing car will make its first appearance in front of assembled media at 08:15 CET on Monday 22 February, with live coverage brought to the public via the team's social media channels.
Lewis will take the wheel for the first and third days of running next week in Spain, with Nico set to drive on days two and four. This driver allocation is the reverse of that used during today's Promotional Event at Silverstone and at the opening test of 2015.
