GP2 confirms 21 drivers for Barcelona

GP2 Series organizers have confirmed that 21 drivers will participate in this weekend's season opener at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

Carlin has elected not to field a teammate for rookie Marvin Kirchhofer, while Status Grand Prix is absent from the entry list.

Status made its debut in the category in 2015 and placed eighth overall, with Richie Stanaway emerging victorious in Monaco and Russia.

However, Status only participated in two of the six days of pre-season testing and is not present at the circuit this weekend.

The reduction in grid numbers also comes off the back of Hilmer Motorsport's withdrawal, after its absence from the final three rounds of 2015.
