Thursday afternoon update from IMS
Well, as predicted the clouds are rolling in and rain is expected shortly. Indycars are out next to practice but if it rains, we will not see much action on the track. Rain was predicted also for race day this Saturday, but the forecast keeps changing. Raindrops have not started here yet.
The Lazier garage is bustling with activity. There is now an IndyCar sitting inside the garage, with a white paint scheme and red striping. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Buddy Lazier's Indy 500 win.
The grandstands behind the pits are not open to fans today. There is a bit of grumbling about this change from fans that like to sit and watch the action in the pits. And the people like to see the drivers walk past them going in and out of Gasoline Alley. But there are not a huge amount of fans sitting out in the grandstands anyway today.
I will continue to update you as things unfold here in Indy.
