Richard Childress Racing announced Tuesday that Kalahari Resorts and Conventions will serve as the primary sponsor on Ryan Newman’s No. 31 Chevrolet SS at Pocono Raceway this weekend.

The partnership will highlight the recently-opened African-themed 100,000 sq. ft. indoor waterpark in the Pocono Mountains that features a retractable roof, stand up surfing or body boarding on the FlowRider, the Anaconda and Swahili Swirl waterslides, a relaxing lazy river, indoor/outdoor family hot tubs and much more for adults and children alike.

“We could not be more excited to partner with Richard Childress Racing to sponsor Ryan Newman’s No. 31 Chevrolet to bring the spirit of Africa to the Pocono Raceway," said Todd Nelson, owner, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. “The Pocono Mountains have been incredibly welcoming and we continue to find new ways to partner with and support the area."

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions’ Poconos location features 457 rooms and suites, three full-service dining restaurants, a 30,000 sq. ft. Family Entertainment Center and the Spa Kalahari and Salon for relaxation and rejuvenation. The 100,000 sq. ft. Convention Center allows for both meeting spaces and events, with catering and state-of-the-art technology available to guests.

“We are pleased to partner with Kalahari Resorts & Conventions for the Pocono race weekend and to play an integral part in helping to promote Pennsylvania’s largest indoor waterpark," said Torrey Galida, president of Richard Childress Racing. “The resort brings a mix of family fun and provides a top-of-the-line facility for business meetings and events."
