New Racing Facility Planned Near Phoenix
Planned Attesa facility |
CASA GRANDE, Ariz.–Danrick Builders of Chandler announces it is developing Attesa, a 2,360-acre recreational motorsports destination in Pinal County that will create a global magnet for entertainment and an economic engine for the region. The development will promote thought leadership for transportation design innovation, and educational partnerships with universities conducting automotive research and development.
Attesa will have two separate 2.8-mile road courses, a karting track, a driver experience center and a multisurface racing and event area. A private airport with a 6,000-foot-long runway will enable patrons to fly in and out conveniently. Attesa also will include residential, industrial and commercial uses.
"Attesa will be an optimal racing entertainment destination that will draw guests from all over the world, driving new jobs and contributing taxes to local economies," said Dan Erickson, principal of Danrick Builders. "Our model is incomparable to any other development in the United States. We'll combine speed, luxury experiences and motorsports opportunities for individuals from all walks of life."
Designed by renowned London-based race track engineering firm Apex Circuit Design, Attesa's two full-size race tracks will meet international FIA and FIM certifications, offering first-rate motorsports and performance driving experiences. All major sports car, stock car, IndyCar and motorcycle series plus club racing will be eligible to race at Attesa. The karting circuit will be built to FIA/CIK specifications.
"Arizona already has the West's best NASCAR track," added Erickson, referring to Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale. "By adding Attesa, Arizona will become an international racing destination."
A sustained tourist attraction, Attesa will create long-term jobs for the region, drawing from talent generated by Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and the state's community colleges. Elliott Pollack of Scottsdale conducted a market analysis that affirms the demand for this world-class development in Pinal County.
With close proximity to I-8 and 1-10, Attesa is located less than six miles southwest of downtown Casa Grande, within an hour of major airports in Phoenix and Tucson.
"This project represents an amazing opportunity for the city, county and state. It's so much more than a race track. It's a diversified project," said Richard Wilkie, Casa Grande economic development manager. "It will make the area a destination for recreation, industry and high-paying jobs. Attesa is a catalyst for development in the corridor."
A private club and residential community will draw the affluent to Pinal County throughout the year. The resort and conference center will further inject tourism dollars into the local economy.
Attesa is being developed with sustainable and advanced technologies including smart and energy efficient features throughout. Development and management practices will mitigate sound and traffic impacts to the surrounding areas.
"Integrity is Danrick Builders' top priority," said Pat Johnson, principal of Danrick Builders. "We are developing an entertainment destination that will be responsible to the environment and community."
Danrick Builders recently filed an entitlement application in Pinal County and has met with city, county, state and federal officials as well as immediate area neighbors to discuss and approve the development. The company expects to break ground in 2017.
"We are 100 percent behind this project. The Attesa community will be a complement to the nearby Nissan and Volkswagen test tracks. We are creating the center of automotive excellence in Arizona, and that will be right here in Pinal County," said Tim Kanavel, Pinal County economic development program manager. "Attesa will be a huge benefit to our existing tourism industry, furthering Pinal County's desire to be a destination county."
Local esteemed partners including Snell & Wilmer of Phoenix, Elliott D. Pollack and Co. of Scottsdale, Future Cities of Phoenix, and HilgartWilson of Phoenix are collaborating with Danrick Builders on the development. Frost Motorsports and Hunden Strategic Partners of Chicago are providing extensive motorsports market research.
